Personal Testimony

by Pastor Lonnie McKellips

Greetings,

As a child growing up I spent the first 12 years of my life going from church to church with my mom and siblings,
never finding the true God we thought we were worshipping.

As a young man I joined the Army at an early age.
After touring Vietnam for a year, I ended up working
for the Deptartment of the Army.

I worked on the same helicopters I was flying in, during my tour in the Army, as an Army Reserve Technician.

I got married to my beautiful wife,
and had two sons, and a life I thought was going well.

Sometime later, two neighboring kids were teasing
our boys about their faith (being Baptists at that time) and that
they were going to heaven while we were all going to hell.

This led me on a search to find answers for my
young boys, as I could not provide strong answers or reasons on why we were going to heaven.

A co-worker of mine, previously backslidden
and recently turned back to the Lord,
had provided all the answers I kept asking.

Knowing I was not going to just accept any "God" or
"Religion", my search for the right answers and questions were many.

The same answer kept turning back to the
ONE I learned about in Sunday School – JESUS!

I came to the place where I knew that I knew:
Jesus WAS God the Son, come in the flesh to
save us and died for our sins,
rose from the dead, and will save all that call on His name.

In August 1979 I said the most important prayer in my life,
and have never looked back with doubt.

I encourage you to join us as we read through God's Word together, and pray together, and if you are looking – you will find the ONE Answer to eternal salvation.

His name is Jesus (Yeshua), a Jewish man
from the tribe of Judah, fulfilling numerous prophecies
about the Messiah/Christ that would come to save us.

May you also find rest for your soul
in the Prince of Peace, the Savior of our souls, Jesus!

Lonnie M.
